I won an ARC of Nalini Singh's Caressed by Ice and I've got to say I loved it!! Here's my review which I'm sure does not do it justice!
“Caressed by Ice” is Nalini Singh’s third installment in her captivating Psy/Changeling series, and continues the saga of the shape-shifting changelings and their nemeses, the Psy. In “Caressed”, Judd Lauren is the mysterious Psy refugee who has been hiding with his family amongst the Changeling Wolf SnowDancer Pack, though he realizes he can never fully fit into their world. No one in the changeling world knows exactly who or what Judd Laurens was when he was in the Psy Net, but everyone knows that he can be very dangerous. While the SnowDancers tolerate his presence in their pack, he is very aware that his Psy status and their questions about his abilities makes him far from trustworthy in their eyes. Judd struggles to keep his family outside of the Psy Council’s radar and tries to find a place to fit within the pack. At the same time, he continues working with underground Psy forces against the same council who provided his deadly training.
Brenna Kincaid is an energetic and talented SnowDancer who was kidnapped by a Psy council member and psychically traumatized. As she continues on a journey of healing and comes to terms with the changes resulting from the attack, she finds herself increasingly comforted and attracted to Judd’s presence in her life. For Judd, Brenna threatens to awaken feelings that he has not only spent a lifetime suppressing, but believes will be dangerous if allowed to be unleashed. Judd and Brenna find themselves struggling to define and work out their relationship while the conflict between the Psy and the Changeling escalates. The pack also begins to believe there is a spy within their midst.
Ever since I first read about Judd, I’ve been anxiously awaiting his story. My wait was well rewarded! I found the book captivating, exciting, and intriguing. In "Caressed by Ice" Nalini Singh does a wonderful job of including us in Judd and Brenna's world as they struggle to both find a traitor in their midst, and come to terms with who they are, who they’ve become, and what they mean to one another. Judd breaks your heart as he struggles to balance his need for Brenna and what he perceives as his need to protect others from his gift. He truly believes that he will be alone in the world and that there is no hope to end that. Brenna demonstrates unwavering bravery in fighting to heal from her traumatic kidnapping and fighting to make Judd her own. Once the issues preventing them from being together are resolved, the heat between Judd and Brenna is scorching!
As with her other books, Ms. Singh did a wonderful job creating a mystery within a mystery, and an extremely touching romance at the same time. You’re also introduced to the “ghost” and his/her revolutionary activities within the Psy Net in the story, and are also provided with lots of juicy hints about the fates of other characters. All and all, this book is an excellent read and I would recommend it wholeheartedly!!! I can’t wait for the next one!

excellent review! i've not read any of Singh's books yet, but your review has definiteyl piqued my interest ;)
As you know I love, love, LOVE Nalini's world. Before this book, I couldn't make up my mind who my favorites were, either wolves or feline changlings. After this book...maybe it's Psy. Do you think Judd's older brother will remarry?
I can't wait for the next one!
